Sharathon
2005
Nov. 8-13
This is
that time of year where we spend a few days sharing our needs of
listener supported WOAK with you, the listener.
I know it
seems annoying when radio stations have their sharathons. Many
regular programs do not get aired, and you have to listen to guys yak
about money and phone numbers. Believe me, I feel your pain. I
usually tune to another station,too.
This year
the Sharathon is a bit longer than our regular 3 days, but what we are
going to do is to keep the daytime sharathon announcements to a minimum,
concentrating our efforts in the evenings. Then, on Saturday the
18th we are planning on a big event outdoors. We'll have Church
groups singing, and we'll be giving away hotdogs, cokes, t-shirts, and
Frisbees. It will be a great time, and we're looking to meet our
financial goals.
Speaking
of goals...
If you're
looking at this web page, then there is a good chance that you
are an Internet listener.
Let me get to the point.
$7,500 is
what it will cost to stream our audio in the year 2005.
We need you
to help. Please pray about making a pledge
for the year 2005 where you would make a weekly, monthly, or a one time
gift to keep this station on the air.
One of our
2005 Sharathon goals is to raise $7,500 solely from our Internet listeners
to cover all the streaming costs.
We
certainly are not in this for the money. As a matter of fact,
the Lord has made it clear to us that He wants this humble little ministry
to continue for His Glory. It's not for padding our pockets or for
covering our retirement. This station is for the Lord. You
won't hear us getting on the air, jingling our jewelry, telling you to
give so that God will bless you with riches. That kind of junk
ministry is obviously evil.
What you
will hear from us is that if you give sacrificially to this work, we
promise we will use your hard earned money to get the Gospel out to as
many people we can. It's another great way for you to serve the
Lord.
Does $25
a month sound like something you can commit to? That would get
us $300 closer to our goal. A $10 a month pledge would be very
helpful too. Please commit to something. You can either fill
out our pledge form and we will send you some
envelopes, or you can use our PayPal account (see the button on the left)
and give a one-time gift over the Internet. It is estimated that we
have over 3500 regular Internet listeners. If all those gave a one
time gift of $3, the bill would be paid. Every little bit
counts.
Has God
blessed you with wealth? If so, I believe that He has placed His
trust in you because of your ability to be a good steward. Please
consider supporting WOAK. You will find that we too have a high
regard for using God's money wisely. We have many lofty visions of
expanding this broadcast.
One more
important note: we do not want your tithes. Tithes, we
believe, belong to your local Church. If you do not tithe to your
Church, then please do not give to this ministry.
